Important notes regarding the legality of supplemental oxygen in sports

Oxygen supplementation is legal in training and competition according to the World Anti-Doping Agency as of Jan. 1, 2010. Click on the links below for verification:

For Fighters: Different athletic commissions have different rules about supplemental oxygen use. Before a fight, you should talk to the Athletic Commission where you are fighting and have them give you a ruling as to whether you can use it and where you can use it. (Example: Locker room, outside the ring before the fight, in the ring during the fight.) Make sure they know it is a LEGAL substance and method according to the World Anti-Doping Agency and provide them with the links above for verification. In our experience, some commissions have allowed it in the locker room, some have allowed it in the ring before a fight (Houston Texas Strikeforce 2010), some do not allow it at all, and none so far have allowed in in the ring between rounds.
